About Sarah

I am a consultant, trainer, mentor and teacher with over 20 years experience as an educator and administrator.  Founder and Director of Perspectives Montessori Consulting, I provide workshops, consultations and coaching for parents, educators, leaders, and teacher training centres.

Education

I received my B.A. degree in Sociology from Carleton University.

I attended the Toronto Montessori Institute and earned my Early Childhood, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary Credentials.  I also completed a Montessori School Management Credential from the American Montessori Society.

I am currently in the process of obtaining my Master’s of Education from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Experience

I began my teaching career in a Children’s House classroom in Markham, Ontario and later moved to Boston, Massachusetts and taught at both the Lower and Upper Elementary Levels.  During my years in Boston, I first earned the title of Elementary Co-ordinator and later moved into the role of Education Director for the whole school.  I also designed and led the summer camp for 5 years. Since returning to Toronto, I have held positions as Head of School at the Montessori Country School and Toronto Montessori School (Caledon Campus), Curriculum Co-ordinator and Guest Lecturer for Toronto Montessori Institute and Administrator for Ellington Montessori School.  I have also given a series of guest lectures at various teacher training centres and schools on topics such as professionalism, parent relations, record keeping, yearly planning, advertising, etc.

After 20 years in the field and in various roles, I have first-hand experience in leading and managing rapidly growing sole-proprietor and not-for-profit schools, as well as, education institutions.  I would like to share my knowledge and experience with Montessori educators to promote good practices.
